The Mechanical Engineering undergraduate program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc.
Program Educational Objectives:

Graduates in professional practice perform the duties of a Mechanical Engineer consistent with the expectations of employers.

Graduates pursue advanced studies or engage in other life-long learning activities.
Program Outcomes:
- apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
- design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
- design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
- function on multi-disciplinary teams
- identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
- understand professional and ethical responsibility
- communicate effectively
- understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context with a broad education
- recognize the need for, and engage in life-long learning
- be knowledgeable about contemporary issues
- use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
- be knowledgeable about chemistry and calculus-based physics with depth in at least one
- apply advanced mathematics through multivariate calculus and differential equations
- be familiar with statistics and linear algebra
- work professionally in the fluid/thermal systems area including the design and realization of such systems
- work professionally in the mechanical systems area including the design and realization of such systems
